Being a first-time home buyer is exciting but can also be an intimidating experience. My partner and I started this journey as complete novices to the real estate market, and inherently had so many questions. We were exploring the idea of new builds as well as pre-owned homes trying to figure out what works for us but didn’t know where to start or the options available.
Neither one of us had any experience with applying for a mortgage so the application process was foreign and intimidating. Thankfully, Joseph was there to guide us every step of the way, from understanding his role as a realtor to getting finances in place for the purchase. He was very patient and insightful recognizing that this was a learning experience, and his clients don’t come from real estate backgrounds. It’s both my and my partner’s first time buying a home, and Joe has been awesome. As someone who needs to know the ins and outs of something before making a decision, Joe has been nothing but patient and understanding. Before going through this home-buying process, my partner and I had no idea what we wanted in our home. We didn’t know what type of house we wanted, what our needs and wants were, and whether we were going with a pre-owned or new build.
Our first meeting with Joe was super comfortable and informative. He went through each home-buying step with us, informed us about the market, and asked us questions to really get to know us. After our meeting, Joe spent countless hours researching the market and showing us around. I felt like he really listened to what we wanted, and the more meetings we went to, the closer we were to finding our first home.
After looking at over 30 homes, we ended up choosing to go with a new build. We came to this decision mainly because the layout of the new build was perfect for us, the location was great, and we loved the customizability that came along with it. Our journey with Joe doesn’t end after choosing a home. Although it isn’t required, he continues to take the time to come to every big and small meeting with us. Every meeting has been so fun, and I’m looking forward to more. I also really like that Joe isn’t afraid to share his opinions with us. I personally have a hard time when it comes to making selections (exterior colors, structural upgrades, etc), and Joe is able to give us feedback without forcing his opinions on us.
